For Dubai Watch Week, Artya has partnered with retailer Ahmed Seddiqi to unveil two sporty sapphire watches, one of which is a true masterpiece.
The watch in question is a unique take on their AquaSaphir model, which initially resembles a traditional dive watch with its notched bezel and 60-minute scale. However, this is no ordinary timepiece. It's a fusion of sports watch design and the extensive use of sapphire crystal, resulting in a captivating yet unconventional creation. While it doesn't offer dive-ready water resistance, it still boasts a respectable 60-meter rating. And the fixed bezel adds a twist to its functionality.
But here's where it gets interesting: the AquaSaphir is not just a functional watch; it's a work of art. And the collaboration with Seddiqi has resulted in a truly remarkable version.
Technically, these UAE-inspired editions share the same specifications as previous models, featuring a 41mm case made entirely of sapphire crystal, including the case middle, top and bottom crystals, crown, and bezel. Powered by a La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve, this watch is a technical marvel. But the magic lies in its customization.
The real allure lies in the case, bezel, and dial. The dial, crafted from aventurine glass, sparkles with applied markers and hands filled with SLN. It proudly displays the UAE flag at 6 o'clock and an Arabic inscription indicating its limited edition status. The limited edition model is crafted from emerald green sapphire, a material as hard as it is beautiful. Each piece is hand-polished to achieve maximum transparency, maintaining the technical prowess of white sapphire despite its tinted green appearance. But the true showstopper is the unique version.
Artya has pushed the boundaries once again with a single-block bezel featuring four distinct colors, a bold evolution from their previous Bicolour NanoSapphire case middle. And the arrangement of these colors is no coincidence; it's a tribute to the UAE flag, precisely replicated on the bezel using NanoSapphire treatment, which alters the material at a molecular level. This effect is further enhanced by a contrasting black sapphire crystal case middle.
These Artya AquaSaphir Dubai Editions are available on a black rubber strap, with the limited green model priced at CHF 49,900 and the unique quadricoloured piece at CHF 79,900.
