President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise 'Liza' Araneta-Marcos Offer Mass for Typhoon Uwan Victims
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise 'Liza' Araneta-Marcos recently joined hands to offer a special Mass for the victims of Typhoon Uwan and other previous typhoons. The First Lady shared photos on her social media page, showcasing the momentous occasion at a chapel within the walls of Malacañang Palace on Sunday.
"Sunday Mass with special intentions for all the families affected by the recent typhoons," Liza captioned the touching images. This act of compassion comes as the President has directed all government agencies to remain vigilant in the face of Typhoon Uwan's potential impact. The storm, previously categorized as a super typhoon, has maintained its strength over the West Philippine Sea after making landfall in Dinalungan, Aurora.
PAGASA, the state weather bureau, predicts that Uwan will continue its westward northwestward or northwestward movement over the next 12 hours. Following this, the storm is expected to re-intensify tomorrow, Tuesday, while moving northwestward to northward over the West Philippine Sea. Tragically, authorities have reported two deaths in Catanduanes and Samar due to Uwan's onslaught, though these fatalities are still subject to validation.
This poignant gesture by the President and First Lady highlights their commitment to supporting those affected by natural disasters. It also underscores the importance of community and government collaboration in times of crisis.
