That historic season earned him AFCA Region 1 Coach of the Year, D3football.com Region 2 Coach of the Year, and Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

In his seven seasons at Ithaca, the Bombers' defense never allowed more than 20 points per game, ranking in the top 25 nationally five times.
